Heritage of Madhabpur Lake:
A reliable water supply is essential for the cultivation of tea. Because it rains frequently throughout the year, there is no significant challenge. However, due to the sloppy lands, rainwater doesn’t stay in the tea ground for very long.

Therefore, each tea state developed its own water maintaining system in order to maintain a regular water flow. In order to protect the water for efficient tea cultivation, Madhabpur Lake was created. By damming three hills at the request of the Madhabpur tea governmental concern, Madhabpur Lake was created in 1965.

Madhabpur Lake is indeed a body of water that is about 3 kilometers long. The lake is 50 to 100 meters wide. The lake can be walked around on a slender path. From the hill on the south side of Madhabpur lake, one can see the hills in the Indian border regions. Madhabpur Lake can only be visited between the hours of 8:00 and 18:00. A tea processing facility, a tea sales facility, and a mosque are all located inside the tea state. Numerous different botanicals, wood trees, and rubber trees can be found there besides the tea garden and lake. A variety of migratory and aquatic birds, including ducks, sarali, pankauri, and jalpipi, can be found in the lake’s water. It is prohibited to catch fish in the lake. Weasels and monkeys have also been seen in the hills and trees.
